Overview of the course
Through blended learning this module aims to:
- Provide evidence-based recommendations around the principles, practice, and techniques for joint and soft tissue injection therapies for people with rheumatic musculoskeletal disease (RMD)
- Prepare participants to expand their skills base with respect to the use of injection therapies for people with RMD
- Advise participants to work within their respective scope of practice when administering prescribed injection therapies
- Emphasise a person centred approach to healthcare delivery
This module is intended as an educational resource and does not constitute an assessment of clinical competence.
How will I learn
This course will adopt a blended learning approach over a period of 9 weeks.
In-person classes will take place in the Education & Research Centre at Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services in Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6W.
There will be 3 in-person days. These dates are provisional and will run from 9am to 2.30pm:
- Day 1: Monday 15 February 2027
- Day 2: Monday 8 March 2027
- Day 3: Monday 12 April 2027
In addition, there are:
- 5 Online sessions, which are self-directed learning units that take 2 hours each
- 1 Reading week
