Welcome to Harold’s Cross

Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services Harold’s Cross was established in 1879 and provides care for those with a wide range of needs from rehabilitation to end-of-life care across our three specialist services: Specialist Palliative Care, Care of the Older Person and our Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Disease Unit.

What is Palliative Care?

Palliative care or hospice care focuses on improving the quality of life for those with a life-threatening illness as well as providing support to families, loved ones and caregivers.

We provide Specialist Palliative Care in both our in-patient unit as well as in patient’s own homes.

Our multi-disciplinary specialist team include both clinical and non-clinical staff.

Patients requiring our specialist support are referred to our team by their GP or hospital Consultant.

Resources for patients and those caring for loved ones.

We provide bereavement support for those whose relative or friend was cared for by Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services.

What is Older Person's Services / Gerontology?

Older Person’s Services or Gerontology looks to the specialist needs and unique requirements of those who are older and frail in our society.

Our Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Disease Unit (RMDU)

We provide in-patient and out-patient services to assess, treat, support and educate patients with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.

Our expert team work closely with patients to manage their disease and symptoms to achieve the best quality of life possible.

Our multi-disciplinary specialist teams include both clinical and
non-clinical staff.

Patients requiring our specialist support are referred to RMDU by their Consultant Rheumatologist.
