Palliative Care at Wicklow Hospice - How to be referred

If you feel you would benefit from our service, contact your GP or hospital doctor who will assess you, and get in touch with us.  We meet daily to triage new referrals, and see which part of our service best meets your needs at the time.

In general, someone from our team will then be in touch within a week or so, to organise a first review. At that review, you will be assessed by a doctor or nurse to see if you might benefit from our specialised care.

Some people don’t need our specialised care, or don’t need it on an on-going basis. Instead they will receive care from the team that usually treats them e.g. their GP or public health team.
