3rd Dublin Advanced Pain & Symptom Management Course, 4 – 5 December 2023

The aim of this 2-day advanced course is to provide delegates with an up-to-date, evidence-based review of the management of pain and other common symptoms / problems. The topics have been chosen because of their impact on the patients’ quality of life, and the lecturers chosen because of their knowledge of the subject matter. The lectures will be supplemented with relevant reading materials, including slide presentations, and a detailed reference / reading list.

The course has been developed to address the educational needs of Clinical Nurse Specialists in Palliative Care, Specialty Trainees in Palliative Medicine, and Consultants in Palliative Medicine. The course organizers are Prof Andrew Davies (Professor of Palliative Medicine, Dublin), and Dr Andrew Dickman (Consultant Pharmacist, Liverpool).

The Dublin Advanced Course is based on the Guildford Advanced Course (United Kingdom), although the content may vary in terms of lectures / lecturers. Confirmed speakers for the Dublin Advanced Course include Dr Andrew Dickman, Prof Andrew Davies, Dr Paul Farquhar-Smith, Dr Mike Lucey, Dr Anna Karenia-Anderson, Prof Paddy Stone, Lindsay Allen, Craig Guildthorpe, Prof Mari Lloyd-Williams, Jason Boland, Prof Simon Noble and Jo Thompson. More speakers to be confirmed.

Cost: €495 (early bird rate of €440 if payment received before 31 July 2023) – all fees must be paid before the course begins – your booking is not confirmed until we have received payment in full. 4 for 3 tickets must be made in one lump sum. Please note that no invoices will be issued after the 23 October – all bookings beyond that date must be paid for by credit / debit card. The last date for booking is 20 November 2023.

Further Info:        Registration fee: The registration fee includes all refreshments, and access to course materials (lectures, reading / reference list) after the event. Cancellations: Cancellations up to 4 weeks before the conference will incur a €50 administration fee: thereafter no refunds will be given, although substitution of delegates will be allowed.
