Personal clothing (note, we do not provide a laundry service in Hospice).
Footwear. We advise comfortable flat shoes with non-slip soles. Enclosed shoes (i.e. not slippers) are preferable.
Any walking aids/frames that you use at home.
An up-to-date list of your medication. (We will provide you with your medications for the duration of your stay, so you do not need to bring in your own medication. However, if you do not have a list, or are unsure of doses etc., it may be easier to bring all your medication in, and we can go through it with you here).
Any personal items, such as photographs or a favourite pillow or blanket, which may make you feel more at home (though we cannot accept liability for any loss or damage to items of value).
If you have a smart-phone, tablet or laptop you may like to bring it so you can have ‘virtual visits’ with your family, using video calling.
Please arrive at the ward before lunchtime. This allows time for you to settle in, have some lunch and get your bearings. It also gives us time to organise and check your medications and for our doctor and nurse to admit you.
If arriving from a hospital, your team there will organise your transport, which may be dependent on ambulance transfers.
