Wicklow Hospice Half Marathon & 10km

The Wicklow Hospice Half Marathon and 10km 2024 is now SOLD OUT!

• Half Marathon start time 8:45am
• 10KM start time 9am.
• Road and forest trail race.
• Start and finish at Avondale Forest Park, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow
• Medal for all finishers
• Chip timed.

Half Marathon Route: 8.45am

Half Marathon runners start at the ‘Courtyard Archway’ in front of the Beyond the Trees Visitor Centre.  A One Mile Loop into the forest is completed (veering RIGHT on a looped section of trail)  before runners pick up the 10km Route (marked by orange flags).  Runners take the first section of the 10km route back towards the forest turning LEFT on a looped section of trail.

After completing the forest section, runners will travel out the main Avondale Avenue and continue STRAIGHT onto the Road towards Rathdrum.  Runners are asked to keep on the Left Hand Side of the Road on this section of the route and Take a Left Turn at the town roundabout and a Left Turn further along at the crossroads, looping back towards the Park.

Runners turn RIGHT back onto Avondale Avenue , before a second loop of the Forest is completed and then a second loop of the road section.

Runners turn RIGHT back onto Avondale Avenue and the finish line is under the Courtyard Archway.

Junctions are manned by An Garda Siochana, Civil Defence vehicles and Event Volunteers.

10KM Route: 9am

10km runners meet the ‘Courtyard Archway’ in front of the Beyond the Trees Visitor Centre, and will be directed to the start point by our team.

Runners will travel out the main Avondale Avenue and continue STRAIGHT onto the Road towards Rathdrum.  Runners are asked to keep on the Left Hand Side of the Road on this section of the route and Take a Left Turn at the town roundabout and a Left Turn further along at the crossroads, looping back towards the Park.

Runners turn RIGHT back onto Avondale Avenue , before  heading into the Forest Park for a  looped section of the route.

Runners will pass Avondale House on the way back and will then finish under the Courtyard Archway.

Junctions are manned by An Garda Siochana, Civil Defence vehicles and Event Volunteers.
