Glen To Glen Remembrance Hike for Hospice 2025
Sunday, 12 October 2025, 09:00am
About the Event:
The Glen to Glen Remembrance Hike for Hospice will take place on the morning of Sunday 12th October, 2025 and takes a scenic looped route through the Glendalough and Glendasan valleys.
This event provides an opportunity to remember family and friends that we have loved and are no longer with us, while supporting local hospice services.
This event is kindly supported by offshore renewable energy project, Codling Wind Park. Thank you Codling Wind Park for your ongoing support of Wicklow Hospice patients and their loved ones.
The Hike: there are two options to choose from.
Option 1: The main route follows a moderate 12km loop – a good level of fitness is required for this 3-4-hour hike.
Option 2: This shorter 8km route is ideal if you prefer a gentler option, and can be completed within the same time frame as the longer route.
For both options:
- Registration is €25 per person. U16’s can join free of charge, once accompanied by a guardian
- Meeting point is in the Laragh Free Carpark and registration is from 9am. The hike will set off at 9.30am.
- Feel free to bring along a photo of your loved one to place on our Remembrance Board, at the start of the hike. We will also have a short reflection to remember our loved ones before we set off.
- Both groups will be accompanied by experienced walk leaders, and maps will be provided.
- Participants are required to register in advance and will receive a free Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services t-shirt on the day!
- Complimentary refreshments will be served in the carpark upon completion and everyone will receive a Certificate of Completion!
- Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs on this hike.
We are asking participants to raise €100 each which will go towards enhancing local hospice services, and funding things like complimentary therapies, bereavement support services, specialist equipment and development of our hospice gardens.
When you sign up, your fundraising page will be automatically set up for you. Remember, family, friends and work colleagues can sponsor you online and offline. Just share your fundraising page link via your social media, messaging app or email. From here, people will be able to sponsor you from the comfort of their own homes – it couldn’t be easier! If you would prefer a sponsorship card please contact us and we will send on out to you.
This event is licensed by Wicklow Mountains National Park and due to limited numbers permitted on the hike, registration will close once we reach capacity. Walkers may not be allowed to register on the day if the event is full.
