Hospice Sunflower Days

Funds raised through Hospice Sunflower Days, play a vital role in supporting us to continue caring for patients and their families nationwide.

Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services needs to raise  €5.5 million each year and as our population ages, demand for specialist hospice and palliative homecare services continues to grow. We are a proud member of Together for Hospice a national charity who represents 26 hospices nationwide and coordinates Hospice #SunflowerDays each year.

Glen to Glen Remembrance Hike for Hospice

Glen To Glen Remembrance Hike for Hospice 18th October 2026

About the Event:This event provides an opportunity to remember family and friends that we have loved and are no longer with us, while supporting local hospice services.

The Hike: there are two options to choose from.

Option 1: The main route follows a moderate 12km loop – a good level of fitness is required for this 3-4-hour hike.

Option 2: This shorter 8km route is ideal if you prefer a gentler option, and can be completed within the same time frame as the longer route.

For both options:

  • Registration is €25 per person.   U16’s can join free of charge, once accompanied by a guardian
  • Meeting point is in the Laragh Free Carpark and registration is from 9am.  The hike will set off at 9.30am.
  • Feel free to bring along a photo of your loved one to place on our Remembrance Board, at the start of the hike.  We will also have a short reflection to remember our loved ones before we set off.
  • Both groups will be accompanied by experienced walk leaders, and maps will be provided.
  • Participants are required to register in advance and will receive a free Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services t-shirt on the day!
  • Complimentary refreshments will be served in the carpark upon completion, and everyone will receive a Certificate of Completion!
  • Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs on this hike.

We are asking participants to raise €100 each which will go towards enhancing local hospice services, and funding things like complimentary therapies, bereavement support services, specialist equipment and development of our hospice gardens.

When you sign up, your fundraising page will be automatically set up for you.  Remember, family, friends and work colleagues can sponsor you online and offline.  Just share your fundraising page link via your social media, messaging app or email.   From here, people will be able to sponsor you from the comfort of their own homes – it couldn’t be easier!  If you would prefer a sponsorship card, please contact us and we will send on out to you.

This event is licensed by Wicklow Mountains National Park and due to limited numbers permitted on the hike, registration will close once we reach capacity.  Walkers may not be allowed to register on the day if the event is full.

For more information, please contact Fundraising in Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services on 01 4911072 or email fundraising@olh.ie.

Light Up A Life

Light Up A Life is all about – making a memory and making a difference.  Thank you to everyone who supported Light Up A Life 2025.  Details for 2026 to follow later this year.

By sponsoring a Christmas Light you’ll be remembering someone who is important to you their vital life and legacy – and you’ll be joining in a community of kindness, support and celebration.

It is a beautiful way to pay tribute to our loved ones who have passed. You can view all of the wonderful lights here.

Our Light Up A Life Ceremony features a range of wonderful musical acts who will perform Christmas songs to get you feeling festive! The highlight of this wonderful evening will be lighting our magnificent Light Up a Life Christmas Tree. Every year thousands of people sponsor beautiful lights in the name of their friends and loved ones who have passed. The lights are then displayed in their honour for the entire Christmas period. It is a wonderful way to pay tribute to those who meant, and still mean, so much to us.

A very special thanks to Mooney’s Hyundai and Hyundai Ireland for their support in 2026.

Paraic Mooney, Mooney’s Hyundai:
“I’m genuinely delighted to be able to support this charity, which has close personal connections for me. At Mooney’s Hyundai, we’ve been serving our local communities for over 50 years across our two dealerships, and supporting initiatives that make a real difference to people’s lives is something we care deeply about.
The work carried out across the hospices in Harold’s Cross, Blackrock, and Wicklow is extraordinary, providing compassionate, holistic care to patients and their families at what can be an incredibly difficult time. We are more than happy to support Our Lady’s Hospice.
Stephen Gleeson MD, Hyundai Ireland.
”Hospice care is something that many people across the Country have experienced and is a vital service at a difficult point in people’s lives.  Hyundai Ireland is a family focused company and the service provided by Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services is at the core of supporting families. We are proud to support the Charity.”
