This event is an aquatic physiotherapy course designed to introduce the physiotherapist to assess and manage patients in an aquatic physiotherapy setting.

- Understand the scientific principles underpinning aquatic therapy
- Explain physiological effects of immersion and hydrostatic pressure
- Apply aquatic treatment techniques safely
- Design a basic aquatic rehabilitation session
- Identify indications, contraindications, and safety considerations
- Demonstrate core aquatic handling skills and exercise prescription

Fiona Pegum has over 20 years experience working in aquatic physiotherapy, both paediatric and adult MSK and rheumatology. She is the current chair of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Aquatic Physiotherapy and the Irish representative on the International Orgnisation of Aquatic Physiotherapy.
She is involved in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Ireland
