Each year Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services embarks upon an overseas fundraising trek. The premise is simple – help us raise some funds though your own initiative (whether that is organising raffles, or car boot sales, or sponsored swims, or even sitting in a bath full of beans…) and in return you get to travel with us to a fascinating part of the world to explore on foot and celebrate the rewards for your hard endeavours!

In February 2020 the Hospice will be embarking on a stunning summer trek to Austria. This will take the lucky participants to the most beautiful and unspoiled snowy mountains around Salzburg. This is no ordinary trek, but a chance to try snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. We’ll absorb the fabulous culture, savour the cuisine, enjoy the music and soak up the stunning scenery. We’ll stay in 4-star hotels and have our accommodation, flights, transfers, ski equipment and food included in the cost of the trip. With a private tour guide each day plus a trip to Salzburg to finish off the trip, this is one winter wonderland break you really don’t want to miss. And the best part… by coming along you will be directly helping the patients and their families here in the Hospice.

We already have a number of participants signed up but have space for more, so please join us for a short evening presentation and learn for yourself what all the excitement is about (this talk free to attend).

We would be delighted if you (and your colleagues / friends) would be available to attend a short Information Evening presentation to introduce our trek. Our talk will take place on Wednesday 4th December here at the Hospice. Call 01-4911072 to reserve your place.

The talk will be given by Drew Duggan (the tour guide accompanying us on the trek) and will last approximately 1 hr. Drew will provide details of the daily activities, the route, information about what to expect and what to bring; he is a mine of knowledge and has been to this area before so he will be able to answer any questions you might have.

This talk will also be a great way to meet up with other interested trekkers (included some who have been on our overseas treks in the past), so you will be able to meet some of those who you might end up with as walking buddies!

Overseas Treks are one of the most exciting and fun ways to get involved in supporting the Hospice. You get to travel to a lovely location, enjoy organised excursions with the support of an expert guide, meet and make new friends, and most important of all – you will help raise funds for Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services that will ensure we can continue to provide expert care to those who need it most.
