Dublin Certificate in Evidence Based Dementia Care<\/h2>\n
The aim of the programme is to enhance the learner\u2019s knowledge, skills and competence when providing person-centred holistic care and support to people living with dementia, and their family and carers.<\/p>\n

Understand dementia as a syndrome and the presenting characteristics of the most common subtypes of dementia.<\/li>\n
Discuss the concept of person-centred care and personhood and how these concepts underpin holistic dementia care.<\/li>\n
Understand the importance of effective interpersonal communication skills and apply person centred communication strategies when caring for people living with dementia and their carers.<\/li>\n
Support an understanding of the evolving and changing evidence as a consequence of research conducted on people living with dementia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
