Due to the current Covid-19 crisis, Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services have taken the decision to close the Education & Research Centre to all activity until further notice, in order to minimise the risk to our patients. Accordingly, we have decided to present the Moving Points in Palliative Care Conference 2021 in a virtual, online format on Wednesday, 10th March 2021.

Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services Moving Points in Palliative Care Annual Conference will be held as an online event in 2021.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Dynamic changes in Oncology and the impact on Palliative Care’. The conference provides an important forum for educators, clinical practitioners and researchers to examine the developments in oncology and palliative care and research from leading experts in the specialities.

We are honoured to announce the following speakers will be amongst those who present on the day:

  • Professor Andrew Davis Professor of Palliative Medicine, Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services Dublin, Ireland.
  • Professor Janice Walshe Consultant Medical Oncologist, St Vincent’s University Hospital, Ireland.
  • Dr Anne Horgan Consultant Medical Oncologist, University Hospital Waterford, Ireland.
  • Dr Siobhan MacHale Consultant Psychiatrist Beaumont Hospital and Senior Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland
  • Dr Robert O’Connor Director of Research, The Irish Cancer Society, Ireland.
  • Dr Gráinne Sheill Senior physiotherapist, St. James’s Hospital and postdoctoral research fellow in Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland
  • Aileen O’Meara Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Oncology, St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin.
  • Professor Ray McDermott Consultant Medical Oncologist, Tallaght University Hospital, Ireland
  • Professor Daniel Kelly (OBE) Royal College of Nursing Chair of Nursing Research, School of Healthcare Sciences, Cardiff University, UK; Past President European Oncology Nurses Society (2015–17).
