On behalf of the Fundraising Team and all the staff at Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, thank you to everyone who attended and took part in our 2017 Light Up a Life Event. We are delighted to announce that our 2017 event attracted the largest crowd we have ever had (some 12,000 in total) and we raised a tremendous total of € 360,786 all of which will be going to support our front line services that enable us to provide continued loving care for the patients and their families here in the Hospice.

The event was proudly supported by a range of local firms and generously sponsored by Friends First and supported by Clancy Construction. To all these firms who supplied support our sincere thanks. To the army – we simply could not run this event without your support each year – thank you all! And to FM102 for promotional support and face painting, well done guys and thanks!

Light up a Life has offered great solace and joy to so many people since it began in 1992. Our website, www.lightupalife.ie, saw more than 27,000 people lovingly remembered through lights sponsored in their name. All these personal tributes, messages and pictures will remain online and beam across the world  all year long. The website also proved to be a hit with people who wanted to buy their Christmas gifts online and have them delivered by post.

We would like to extend a special thank you to all our acts who supported the event:

  • Palestrina Boys Choir
  • St Jude’s Folk Group
  • The Lineup
  • CIE Male Voice Choir
  • Geraldine McNamara
  • Eimear Mangan
  • Catrina Scullion

and finally a thank you to our very special guests of honour, Daniel and Majella O’Donnell, who together with Ian Dempsey the MC made the whole event one of the best we have ever seen.

Light Up A Life will take place on Sunday 2nd December this year; we hope you will be able to join us once again to help us celebrate the lives of loved ones and to mark the start of the Christmas Season.
