This short programme will prepare both new and experienced nurse managers employed in the long term care setting to fulfil their managerial role. The facilitator/s will provide participants with the knowledge necessary to achieve the skills and competencies when leading and managing a team and striving to assure quality systems in practice. Areas covered on the programme include leadership and management theories, nurse management competencies, reflection on practice through facilitated action learning sets and portfolio development and managing HR issues on the floor.
