1.0 WTE Fixed term Contract (24 Months from 27 Aug 2018)
Based in Education and Research Centre, Harold’s Cross, Dublin
The purpose of this position is to provide undergraduate education in palliative medicine to UCD medical students and to support UCD undergraduate research activities. The post holder will pursue a research interest leading to a higher degree and supervise the work of research students. S/he will engage in medical curriculum planning, co-ordination and teaching. A small clinical commitment attaches to this position.
- Hold a recognised postgraduate qualification accepted as an entry point to higher medical training in Palliative Medicine (MRCPI, MRCP, MICGP or MRCGP).
- Full registration in the General, Specialist or Trainee Specialist register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland.
- At least one year’s experience in Palliative Medicine or a related specialty at Registrar or Specialist Registrar level.
- 4+ years post graduate experience.
- Experience of student education.
- Can demonstrate a high standard of clinical competence.
